This weekend I realized SUMMER IS HERE! Maybe it was the fact that I was in Ft. Worth, TX for a wedding. An outdoor wedding at 6:00 p.m. in 102 degree heat. We had a great time visiting with all of the fabulous people that came from far and near to wish the bride and groom joy and happiness, but selfishly I had my own little bit of joy when 4 different people commented on my makeup and how fresh I looked in the heat. Holiday Wishes

This is the thing that you see when you are out shopping and think of all the people it is going to be great for, but have to get one for yourself too. LAFCO's new Avenue candle came out just in time for holidays. The luxe, soy based candles have a 90 hour burn time and the beautiful metallic rimmed glass can be reused when it has finished.

Named after the most famous streets around the world that give the inspiration for these extraordinary fragrances. I have a 3 1/2 month old, so this is something I know all about right now, and let me tell you with this scrub I am giving her a run. May is for Mothers!

The old saying, "April Showers Bring May Flowers" might be true, but instead of sending your mom an arrangement that will be gone in a few days send her some flowers she can enjoy throughout the year. No, of course I don't mean fake flowers, I am talking about a fabulous fragrance.

Some of my favorites are from Ineke. Ineke is a classically-trained perfumer who creates beautiful, original scents in her independent studio in San Francisco. She studied perfumery at ISIPCA in Versailles, France (the only official school of perfumery), under the guidance of Yves de Chiris who also helped her train at Quest thereafter and with formidable mentors such as Dominique Ropion and Isabel Doyen.She apprenticed for three years at a fragrance house in Paris, making pilgrimages to Grasse, perfume capital of the world. Ineke finally decided to move to San Franciso, where she makes her luminous, modern fragrances. Each fabulous fragrance is consecutively named after a letter of the alphabet: A - After My Own Heart, with floral notes like lilac; B - Balmy Days and Sundays, a light, fresh green scent perfect for warmer days; C - Chemical Bonding, a citrus based scent; and E - Evening Edged in Gold, a sultry scent with amber notes. So, you are wondering about D...well that is Derring Do, a fresh clean scent for men.

Not only are each of Ineke's fragrances fabulous, but the bottles and boxes are works or art themselves. Each is a different color to go with the scent it holds and tells the "story" of the fragrance inside. Capped off with a Bakelite top, they are like works of art themselves.
